Timo's Rescue CD Set
Build Your Bootable Rescue CD

This set is my approach for an easy way to generate a rescue system on a bootable cd, which can easily be adapted to the own needs. The project evolves more and more into a "debian on cd" project, so it's not only possible to use the system as a rescuecd, it is also possible to install a whole debian system on cd.

Although it is not optimized for that you can use other distributions then debian as well as the base rescue system.

This project is in still in the development process. Feel free to mail me suggestions or bugs.
The rescue system is based on debian Sarge, but it should run on most other distros too.

Note: The bbc iso image branch is discontinued as i have not enough time to maintain it.

Goals:

• Everything must be configurable, but at the same time it should be easy to manage.
• A usable rescue system.

• The following problem is solved in recent kernel versions, at least in 2.4.17.
  The memory of the initrd can't be freed although it can be unmounted without problems but the following error message:
  # umount /initrd
  VFS: Busy inodes after umount. Self-destruct in 5 seconds. Have a nice day.
  # blockdev --flushbufs /dev/ram0
  BLKFLSBUF: Device or resource busy
